The August Ipsy bag is here!

A little about this subscription: Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription that comes with 5 items (some deluxe size some full size) customized for you based on your beauty quiz results.  It also comes in a cute bag (which is different each month) for $10 a month. It is a great way to try new items.

The theme this month is “Sugar Highness.” The bag I received this month is a vinyl with a zipper and this great design illustrated by the Ipsy founder herself. The design is to inspire the beautiful dreamer in all of us. I really love these bags. I use them for everything. They are great for organizing items in your purse, backpack or any bag.

Here is what came in this month’s bag and my mini review/thoughts for each item.

Pacifica Sundreams Lotus Infused Bronzer in Sunkissed

Winky Lux Diamond Complexion Powder in Light

Luseta Argan Oil Hair Masque

It Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Mini Gel Eyeliner in Black

Ciate London Paint Pot in Dangerous Affair

Pacifica Sundreams Lotus Infused Bronzer in Sunkissed

This brand is not new to me. I have used several of their skin and makeup products in the past. I was excited to see this. Because all of the local retailers in my area only sell a very limited amount of Pacifica products I have not tried their bronzer. The bronzer is a universal shade however; I found it too dark for my light skin. I did love it as an eyeshadow! It blends nice and does not have any glitter or shimmer. It is not matte but has a nice sheen. This is a full size product and retails for $12.

Winky Lux Diamond Complexion Powder in Light (deluxe sample size)

I have not heard of this brand before. According to their website, this face powder claims to have a blurring effect, diminish fine lines and will not clog pores. I did not notice any of this when I used it. The powder has creamy texture. The color has a slight yellow tone. I did use this as a touch up powder. While the powder applied nice, I did notice it leave a bit of a yellow tone and sat on top of my skin. I will have to try it again using my beauty blender to see if that makes a difference or not.

 Luseta Argan Oil Hair Masque

Another new brand to me. This masque claims to replenish hair that is dry and damaged from heat and chemicals. It contains argan oil and is sulfate and phosphate free. The smell is amazing. I did use this on my hair. Instead of leaving it on for 5 minutes per the instructions, I left it on overnight (as I do with most deep conditioners) rinsed it out the next morning. My hair was soft and shiny. The only drawback is it is hard to find. Other than that, I was impressed with this product.

It Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Mini Gel Eyeliner in Black

I was very excited to see this in my glam bag. I am a big fan of It Cosmetics. I have and use many of their products but have not tried this eyeliner. I did swatch it and it glided on without tugging my skin. My initial thought was the consistency reminded me of the Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil which I love. I look forward to using this on my eyes and hope it has the staying power of the Urban Decay.

Ciate London Paint Pot in Dangerous Affair

Familiar with this brand but not used their polishes. The polish claims to add volume to your nail beds and has a high shine. The color I received is a beautiful burgundy shade that will be perfect for fall. This is a full size product and retails for $17.

Wrap up: I am happy with this month’s selections. Even though I am familiar with some of these brands and even, use many of their products, all of the products I received this month I have not tried.

Two full size products each worth over $10 makes this month’s bag even a better deal. What did you get in your Ipsy bag this month?
