Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing my go to summer makeup items. In the summer, I like to wear more cream products than powder. My skin tends to be on the drier side and with cream products; it helps me achieve that dewy glow.
During the summer, I do wear minimal makeup. I love the natural sun kissed dewy look to the skin so I try to use minimal products to help achieve that look. I also prefer cream products than powder in the summer. I think it looks fresh and healthy.
My Makeup Essentials:
Becca Under eye brighten corrector
Loreal Lumi Cushion foundation
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
Nars dual Laguna/Hot Sand Cream stick bronzer
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Copper
Supergoop Makeup Setting spray
Lips: Nars, Urban Decay, Loreal, Mac
Prepping the skin: After my morning cleansing routine, my skin is prepped and ready for any makeup.
I sweep PUR hydra lift under both eyes. The PUR hydra lift hydrates the lid and under eye for an instant brighter, firmer, lifted look. The product also helps blur imperfections. It is perfect to use for priming before applying concealer.
Next, I apply a small amount of the Becca Under eye Brightening Corrector under each eye. I blend in with my finger. I find this works better than using a brush or beauty blender. The warmth of my finger helps melt the product into my skin. I apply my setting powder (not pictured) under eyes. I use a damp beauty blender for this step.
Foundation: I go between two different foundations in the summer. One is L’Oréal Lumi Cushion Foundation in C3. The other is It Cosmetics CC Illumination foundation in light. I love the glow it gives me without a heavy feel on my skin. I apply either of these with my beauty blender.
Bronzer: I alternate between Nars Laguna and Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. Both bronzers blend beautifully into the skin and do not have any glitter. I apply Laguna with my damp beauty blender.
Blush: An all-time favorite, Nars Orgasm. I love this color! It is the perfect amount of pink and gold mixed together to give a fresh look to the face. I apply this with a damp beauty blender.
Highlight: I like a subtitle highlight on the face. I reach for my Becca Opal and apply it with an Elf small stipple brush. I find I can really sheer out the finish for the look I want by using this brush.
Eyes: Laura Mercier in Copper. This is a metallic bronze color, which you can sheer out for a light wash of color. You can also layer it on the have create a more intense look. This product sets and does not budge until you are ready to take it off, perfect for heat of the summer. I wear this alone or often pair it with L’Oréal’s Amber Rush in the crease. Both shadows are beautiful for the natural bronze look. I finish the look with my Holy Grail mascara Benefit They’re Real mascara.
When I am done, I set my face with Supergoop setting spray. It has SPF 50 and helps keep any makeup fresh all day.
Lip: My go to colors for the summer are pink and gold. I love sheer color and glosses. I do have a couple of lipsticks I have been enjoying, MAC High Tea and Peach Blossom. Both of these are sheer and give a hint of color. The glosses are Nars SuperVixen, Urban Decay Sesso and Loreal Pro Gloss in Bloom.
That wraps up my summer go to makeup items. I would love to hear what your favorite summer makeup essentials are.
